New Member Onboarding Lab: Make the First Week Feel Intentional

A community can attract signups and still lose people before they become active. Participants design a first-week onboarding path with welcome messages, interest capture, lightweight tasks, event recommendations, mentor routing, and respectful reminders.

The workshop focuses on operational reality: who follows up, what gets automated, what should stay personal, how to avoid spam, and what signals show that onboarding is working. It is built for growing communities with limited volunteer time.
